I have recently found Kina Grannis on Youtube and I love her. This is the song that got me addicted to her. She has an amazing voice and has a huge list of cover songs on her youtube page. She also has originals and has an album coming out in February. Anyway, I love this song so much I wanted to blog about it so here it is. (I like the way she sings it better than Frou Frou)

Oh and one more thing. I think she looks a lot like Newts girlfriend Sam.

New Moon!

(I don't like the New Moon song as much as Twlights song so I chose that one instead, actually I really think the New Moon soundtrack sucks! It does not compare to the Twilight soundtrack in the least in my opinion.)

As you can see the countdown is over and I have switched my countdown on the right to the eclipse countdown. Parker, McKayla and I went to the midnight showing of New Moon.

I absolutely loved it! I can't wait to own the dvd so I can watch it any time I want. I heard that some people thought it was slow, but I think if you read the books and you knew what was coming you would have been on the edge of your seat! I think it followed the book very closely and they left in all the important parts, which was something that kind of disappointed me with Twilight. Which is funny because I watched the movie first, fell in love with it and then read the books... and fell even more in love with them! Anyway, back to the movie, I loved the wolves, and I loved all the extra fighting scenes they added that were not in the book, with the Volturi. I even think Kristen Stewart did a good job. She can definitely play depressed good. I just wish she could play happy better.

G.N.O.

OK so I have decided to get rid of my playlist at the bottom of the blog. Instead I will just embed a song every time I post, that way the reader has control over whether they want to hear it or not, rather than it just automatically playing (that can be annoying). The first song I have picked is very appropriate to this post. Go ahead, click play! :)

This post is all about McKayla's surprise Miley Cyrus Concert. I told her Monday that we were having a girls day on Tuesday, since she didn't have school (which actually just worked out that way). But I didn't tell her what we were doing. I did tell her we were going to DC, and she thought it had something to do with the elections, since we voted before we left. haha

We first stopped for Pizza, because eating at a concert is so hard to do with the limited space and it is SO expensive!

We got to the venue and had to park in a parking garage a block away. We walked to the Verizon Center with tons of teens and pre teens and their parents crowding the streets. We stood in line to get into the building, and once we were in and waiting in line for the ticket people she finally said "Are we at a concert?"

This is Metro Station, I know the pictures really stink, but I had my camera on the wrong setting the whole time. I thought I had changed it to the right one, but I didn't realize until I was out in the street that it wasn't. grrr Anyway if you look at the huge screen you can see Mason Musso and his red pants.

McKayla's new Metro Station shirt. (She also got the Metro Stations CD for free because we bought the shirt!) She has a bigger collection of concert t-shirts than I do!

We passed a frozen yogurt place "Tangy Sweets" and thought maybe we could waste time and eat there while the parking garage emptied out...totally didn't work. We still had to sit in a traffic jam for quite a while. But we didn't care, we rocked out to some Lady Gaga and Metro Station.

Playing with my camera. It didn't exactly turn out the way I was planning, but it was cool enough that I kept it.

And for you viewing pleasure. I snuck my video camera in and took some videos. Sorry it is a little jiggly in some spots, I was trying to be discreet.

And I can't forget...Yankees won the world series!! So here is Mason all Yankee'd out!

Karis and McKayla

I think most of my posts are "I'm back" or "Update for the last some odd months/years" posts. hee hee oops.

Karis stayed with us for a couple of weeks this summer and I got a lot of cute pictures I have been meaning to upload. I took the girls school shopping and they ended up with a lot of matching outfits.

Start the sillyness.

And they're back!
Photobucket

You lookin' at me... err us?
Photobucket

Thats what I thought!
Photobucket

Oh boy... not again!
Photobucket

I don't think starting on the ground is going to work.
Photobucket

Nope, it didn't.
Photobucket

Oh, there.

BFFs
Photobucket

Mason wouldn't leave them alone, he thought he was included in the "BFFs" term.
Photobucket

We also went to Ripley's Believe it or Not. But these are the only two pictures I was able to get because Mason wouldn't let go of me. He was a little freaked out, in that museum.

Since this whole post has been about McKayla, I'll add a litte picture of Mason and his "BFF" or maybe I should say "BBB" (Best Baby Buddy).

No more cast!!

Today was McKayla's big day. She has been counting down the days to get her cast off, and it finally came!!

It was a little bit stanky!!!

You can see there is a bump, I don't know if that is from this break or her last break, but the doctor said it healed perfectly.

She's a little sore, but she seems to be doing alright. She is still 6 weeks away from being completely healed, but her bone has fused together enough that a cast is no longer required. Just to be on the safe side though, she will not be wearing heely's for another 6 weeks.

Yesterday, Parker went to Lynchburg for a meeting. He texted me a picture, with the subject "I Love You!"

Trying to play catch up!!

OK I need to update with all the things I've missed. I'll start with St. Patrick's day.

For St. Patrick's Day, we made ice cream sandwich clovers. The recipe called for Mint Chocolate Chip ice cream, but I'm the only one that likes that kind of ice cream so I got Vanilla bean and colored it green with food coloring.

The cookie part was a little salty, and it was much easier to eat after it had been in the freezer for 24 hours, unlike what the recipe said. I guess next year I'll have to make them a couple days before. Oh and I made one as a 4 leaf clover, but since I didn't have a cookie cutter, I had to cut them out free hand with a spoon, so the 3 leaf clovers just turned out better.

OK another thing I missed was the Shamrock Marathon. Parker ran the 1/2 marathon this time and his parents and Pat and Gene walked the entire marathon.

Parker, Mason and I left Williamsburg at 4:50 in the morning to drive to Virginia Beach. We found a parking space about a block from the starting line! We were really lucky. His race started at 7:00, so he took off while I got Mason ready.
Photobucket

After we watched all the 1/2 marathon runners run by, the Mills called and said they were just about there. They brought McKayla with them, so we met up with them and watched them start their 26.2 mile walk.

Photobucket

A few last minute preparations...
Photobucket

and waves..
Photobucket

and they're off!! Ok maybe one more wave.
Photobucket

It was a long cold day but Mason and McKayla were troopers. They did great! McKayla is used to it by now, she's been going to marathons since she was about 5, so she knows there is a lot of walking and waiting. But she does love the cheering.
Photobucket

This was about 2 miles from the finish line!
Photobucket

So we met up with Parker, he changed, we got some breakfast and waited about the half way mark for our marathon walkers to come by.
Photobucket

Since they were at the half way point we decided to go do some shopping while we waited for the big finish. It was that time before we knew it and we were back at the finish line waiting...and posing of course. (We definitely have to go back and get better pictures with that statue.)
Photobucket

HERE THEY COME!!!
Photobucket

THERE THEY GO!!!
Photobucket

FINISHED!!
Photobucket

A couple minutes later came Gene and Pat! Still smiling, thats a good sign.
Photobucket

FINISHED!!
Photobucket

A little sore, and tired, 7 hours later but very excited to be marathon finishers!
Photobucket

I love going to marathons, it's always so exciting!

This was a pretty long post so I'll finish my update tomorrow.

ciao
